The British Aircraft Corporation BAC 1-11 is a two engine short range commercial jet. With orders first placed in 1961 just 244 were made with production at Hurn stopping in 1982. Designed to replace existing commercial propeller powered aircraft in the early 1960s it was the second short haul jet-airliner ever entered into service and is still successful with commercial and military applications even today.
Simulator Features
The simulator was manufactured by Redifon in 1972. The host computer is an R2000a. The visual system is an NVS, 2 Window Night Scene. Generic & specific airports are available. The motion is a 3 axis hydraulic powered platform constructed by Redifon and has an analogue control loading. Radio aids are worldwide. The engine type is Rolls Royce Spey 512-14DW for 500 configs and Rolls Royce Spey 511-14 for the 400 series. This is the only operational B1-11 simulator in the world.
